Hotel Excelsior is a five-star stylishly decorated luxury hotel in a spectacular location offering breathtaking views of the Old Town. State-of-the-art technology, which is expected of a five-star hotel, is coupled with the lovely views of the tranquil Adriatic and the Old Town of Dubrovnik. As the Excelsior's reputation spread worldwide during its rich 92-year history, many celebrities visited the hotel such as Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret, Margaret Thatcher, King Olaf, Vaclav Havel, Edward Kennedy, Japanese Princess Sayako, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg, Christopher Walken, Joely Richardson, Michael Palin, Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson and many others. At the end of November 2006 we started a thorough reconstruction of the old part of the Hotel Excelsior, better known as the Villa Odak, as well as the wellness and spa section by the indoor pool. More than 3 million euro is expected to be invested. The Hotel Excelsior has received numerous awards and recognitions such as the 2004 Award for Best Hotel on the Adriatic, awarded by the Croatian Chamber of Economy and Croatian Television, while in 2005 it won second place for Best 5-Star Hotel on the Adriatic. In early 2006 the eminent British newspaper Sunday Times listed the Hotel Excelsior among the eleven hottest hotels in the Mediterranean. Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, Conference Center and Spa is a luxurious five-star hotel with 308 rooms offering sea views and private balconies, with a divine "Wren's Club" wellness and spa centre. Other hotel amenities include conference rooms, a superb gastronomic offer in the hotel's restaurants and bars, a night club, a variety of recreational facilities and spectacular terraces with breathtaking sea views. The Dubrovnik Palace, with its unique array of services and distinguishable lifestyle has become a favourite spot for modern nomads in search of inspiration for the body and soul in a captivating environment of untouched nature and a healthy style of living. In 2006 the VIP visitors' book at the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel contained the names of such celebrities as US Vice-President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynne and Hollywood actor Nick Nolte, who visited Dubrovnik with his son. The Dubrovnik Palace Hotel has won the "Tourism Oscar", the prestigious 2005 World Travel Awards, in two categories: Croatia's Leading Hotel and Croatia's Leading SPA Resort. It also received the 2005 Thompson tour operator and Saga Holidays award for best European hotel. In 2006 the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel was nominated for three prestigious World Travel Awards in the categories of Europe's Leading Resort, Croatia's Leading Hotel and Croatia's Leading Spa Resort. It was the first Croatian hotel to be nominated for Europe's Leading Resort. At the gala awards ceremony of the 'Tourism Oscars' - the prestigious 2006 World Travel Awards the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel was awarded for the second year in a row in the following two categories: Croatia's Leading Hotel and Croatia's Leading SPA Resort. The Dubrovnik Palace Hotel has won the Tourism Flower - Quality for Croatia 2006 Award for best Croatian 5-star hotel on the Adriatic. The recently renovated Hotel Bellevue, located in the vicinity of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, offers a completely new experience of glamour, luxury and authentic beauty. More than EUR 20 million has been invested in the transformation of this former two-star hotel into a luxurious 5 plus star hotel. The thorough reconstruction project lasted 14 months. The Hotel Bellevue has a spectacular cliff top setting 30 metres above Miramare Bay, a secluded sandy cove between the old town of Dubrovnik and the Lapad peninsula and a private beach - a corner of paradise in the Adriatic jewel, Dubrovnik.
